Single Action Airbrush Sets
A single action airbrush set is a great tool for painting various hobby and craft items. With a compressor, an airbrush is like a spray can that wont run out, except an airbrush can control the air flow and paint spray. Other common items painted with an airbrush set - Model cars, planes & boats, ceramics, t shirts, wood, skin, glass plus more.
How a single action airbrush works is based on Bernoulli's principle. Air moving at a high velocity also has a low pressure and if the air stream is above a liquid, in this case paint, the low pressure will cause the paint to be drawn up and into air stream. Once it enters the air stream the paint gets broken into fine particles, and blown out of the airbrush as spray.
The priciple is simple and airbrushing itself is realy not that hard. Basically, choose the right airbrush set, equipment and solvents, and spend a bit of time learning correct double action or single action airbrush techniques. Fine works of art need plenty of practice.
Basic Tips
- Single action airbrushes are easier to use and more economical. Great for the beginner although the double action airbrush is better for detailed and graphic airbrush art, but also harder to learn.
- For all airbrush sets, be sure to use a good compressor.
- Use recommended thinners from the manufacturer.
- Follow cleaning instructions to keep the airbrush working properly.
